I’m in the U.S. and my husband buys all the appliances, although he’ll consult with me sometimes and I think I bought the Best Buy Hand Blender many years ago.
One problem at my house is that we have a really small kitchen so when we’re buying the big kitchen appliances, like a dishwasher or refrigerator, the determining factor is whether a new appliance will fit. Measuring is his job!
Also, installing is his job: lifting, carrying and connecting items like a microwave or washing machine is entirely up to him.
Perhaps oddly compared to many households, he also is likely to be the one with an actual opinion and has many more requirements than I do. Basically, all I care about is to have microwave that’s big enough to accommodate my popcorn maker and 9″x 13″ baking pan.
